a great time had by all on the 20th of july, at redcar beach the sun came out just at the right time a loads of cash was given towards the northeast air ambulance

REDCAR & Cleveland Borough Council is backing an ambitious fund-raising bid on Redcar beach in July – creating a Guinness World Record for the number of women photographed in bikinis!
The event is being co-ordinated by the Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club aiming to raise up to £20,000 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The record currently stands at 1,010 and was set on a hot and sunny Bondi Beach in Australia last September. But the Rotary Club is confident that the women of the North East can brave the elements on Redcar beach at 11am on Sunday, July 20 to beat the record.
Unlike Bondi Beach, where entries were restricted to women between 18 and 34 years of age, the Redcar event will be much more inclusive, with a lower age limit of 16 and no upper limit.
Organiser Mike Robson is hoping in addition to the £5 entry fee that will go to the Air Ambulance Service, ladies of all ages will get family, friends and colleagues to sponsor them to help capture the record from the Aussies.
The event is supported by both the Council and Tees Valley Leisure, with sponsorship from two Yarm businesses, Bizou Boutique and The Keys Night Club.
Contact Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club by e-mail: gnbc@clevelandcable.com, or call 01642 757305 to obtain a registration form. Then get your bikini out of the drawer and hope for a sunny day on July 20!
